Christopher's Story
Stories ¿ OK .
Did you hear the one about - the Minister, the Rabi and the Priest walked into a bar ¿
No, I think I¿ll wait till I see you in person for that one.
Joined the military in 72 and spent 2½ years in Europe, mostly Germany but I did manage to travel from the Med to the North Sea ¿ my one regret is I never made to October Fest ¿ always busy in October ¿ but I did catch Carnival in Cologne- great party. It ends just as Lent starts - so if you didn't have any sins to confess before Carnival - you surely will afterwards. Meet people, some I'm in contact with to this day, went places and did things only possible in the military.
After my discharge I gained employment as a low level tech working in a Research, Engineering and Development outfit, and attending a local college with the hope ...Expand for more
of finishing a degree in Materials Engineering. Unfortunately life got in the way and I found myself a single parent with two teenagers ¿ so much for joy of working / studying for only 12 hours a day. The next 13 years I pulled double duty as ¿Mr. Mom¿ and working my way up the professional ladder into retirement ¿ which could happen at any time.
The kids turned out OK, but Dad is a wreck. No regrets ¿ I do what needs to be done in the hope that it doesn¿t ruin my pleasant attitude.
A weekly stop at the local brew pub for quick Ale and some live music serves to realign my point of view.
If you are ever in Troy NY stop at the Tap Room, Brown¿s Brewing Company, on River Street ¿ great food and the beer on tap is locally brewed.
Enough of the blather, I¿ll tell ya more when I see ya.
